The system of Con Dao prisons

The system of Con Dao prisons in French colonialism: including Bagne prisons (Banh) 1, 2, 3, Biet Lap Chuong Bo Prison, Chuong Cop prison and auxiliary Bagne 3.
Bagne 1: Constructed in 1862 or called Lao 1 (in the American-Nguy period, this prison was renamed into Cong Hoa prison, prison 1 or Phu Hai prison). This is the biggest and oldest prison in Con Dao with deep traces about hard labors and crime of French colonialism to the political prisoners.
Bagne 2: Constructed in 1916, next to Bagne 1, or called Lao 2 (in the America-Nguy period, this prison was renamed into Nhan Vi prison, Prison 2 or Phu Son prison).
Bagne 3: Constructed in 1928, or called Lao 3 (in the American-Nguy Period, this prison was renamed into Bac Ai prison, Prison 3, Phu Tho prison or “Biet Lap Chuong Ga Prison”)
Biet Lap Chuong Bo Prison: Was constructed in 1930 or called Chuong Bo Security
Chuong Cop: Was constructed in 1940 which was famous prison of the France.
Auxiliary Bagne 3: Constructed in 1941, or called auxiliary Lao 3 (in the America-Nguy period, it was renamed into Bac Ai prison, Prison 3 or Phu Cuong prison).
The system of Con Dao prisons in America – Nguy Prison: During this time, other prisons were constructed additionally including Prison 5 (or called Phu Phong prison), Prison 6 (or Phu An prison), Prison 7 (or called Phu Binh prison or American style Chuong Cop prison), prison 8 (or called Phu Hung prison).
The system of Con Dao prisons was recognized by Ministry of Culture and lnformation as the National revolution relic on 29/04/1979.
